BOARDING AT LDCD
A positive experience
What to bring
Depending on needs and requests, your furry kid(s) will get a choice to sleep alone, with family or friends, socially in a large area or with a human (and sometimes cuddling under the covers in the human bed). Every Dog gets an elevated bed with a large pillow on top and a blanket (unless they are under the covers in the human bed). During the day, all boarding Dogs will be playing with their overnight buddies and daycare friends. To get a feel of what your furry kid(s) will be doing during the day while he/she stays with us, please check out our daycare page.
Please note that it is not uncommon for Dogs to go home after a boarding stay with us to sleep much more than they normally would for the next 2 to 3 days. This is due to the extra activity and interaction with other Dogs during their stay.
Many Dogs who board at Lazy Dog Crazy Dog are not used to being away from home and/or not familiar with a pack environment. Not to worry. Our evaluation process will set the tone for a positive experience. One of our favorite things at LDCD is when a Dog stays with us who has had little to no experience in a social setting. Dogs have a keen ability of sensing good from bad. Some sense the positivity as soon as they step through our front door, while others may require anywhere from the 2 hour evaluation period to a couple days of daycare to build up trust. It is not uncommon for a senior Dog with no socialization or pack skills to blossom into one of the most loved, revered and enjoyed pack mates upon departure from their first boarding stay with us.
We encourage you to bring plenty of food for your furry kid's stay; one or two extra days worth of food in case of emergencies. We have Taste of the Wild on hand in case of a shortage but keeping your furry kid's diet the same will avoid possible digestive issues. We will accommodate any diet - frozen, freeze dried, wet, raw or dry. Please note, because your Dog might be getting more exercise than they normally would, it is not uncommon for them to need more food for fuel. If your furry kid is on any oral or topical medication, we are more than happy to administer it according to your instructions.
For every Dog's safety, please make sure your furry kid has a quick-release collar.
All beds, blankets, pillows, bowls, dishes and toys will be provided.
Keeping in touch
Baths & nail trims
New to LDCD
It can be stressful to leave your furry kid for overnight stays and we totally understand that. We make it a point to keep in touch and you are more than welcome to check in via email and/or phone calls. We also update our Facebook page and Instagram everyday to show what's happening.
We are quick to report and bring to your attention anything that is not normal about the health or well being of your Dog. We are here to provide the best possible care for Dogs!
While your furry kid is at overnight camp, he/she can have a spa day before going home. We provide baths and nail trims. While we give your Dog a spa day, we also put in some extra one-on-one cuddle time!
Due to our social environment, we make sure that every Dog is comfortable and happy in a pack before staying with us. It also gives us an opportunity to make sure we meet your furry kid's needs. Every Dog at Lazy Dog Crazy Dog starts with a 2 hour evaluation. If they need a little longer to get comfortable, we extend the evaluation to make sure they are happy in our environment.
